Musical Snapshots of ordinary moments with extraordinary consequences.  True, I have had my life changed at the DMV, I've validated my own religious & spiritual views at Walgreens and at a gas station.  I've found kindness at McDonalds. These are the kinds of things I write and sing about.  I also create and produce performance pieces that generally involve universal and social themes. Through songs, stories, and photographs,   thoughts are illustrated on subjects ranging from self-discovery at unlikely places (Nattie @ the DMV), self-respect in a world of pick-up lines and good drinkin’ times (My G-String is Out of Tune) and self-worth learned from lessons as a substitute teacher (Nattie and the Class of 2019)

My latest project and performance piece is a chronicle of my World Tour.

When I began performing live, I was terrified and created the stage name - Nattie.

Nattie is best summed up by the song "Cowgirl".  It was written in 2005 after trying desperately to figure out what I was doing and why I thought I had any business writing songs. I realized while driving down Napoleon Avenue one day that all I had to do to get over my fear of writing and performing was to channel my Inner Cowgirl.  7 years later, I'm finally confident enough to use my own name....though I think "Natasha & her Nattie Concepts" is a suitable band name these days.

Cowgirl  (2005)

I'm just a simple cowgirl living in the city.  Drinking lots of ponies on a barstool writing ditties.  The tunes might seem simple and the subjects might seem bare.  It's the little things that matter to me and the rest, well, I just don't care.

I don't care about gossip, like who is sleeping with who.  I don't care about money, I just want to buy some food.  All I really care about is living a life that's true.  Help make the world a better place - it's the best we all can do.

I watch the state of our world on the evening news.  I shake my head and wonder "where's the other views"?  It's the power of the half hour to spread hatred and fear - tell me a story about a little kind boy and that's what I'd rather hear.

I could write about philosophy or the love of my life.  I could write about indigent workers and their plight.  But the other day a stranger said "hey" and he gave me a little smile.  It's a little known fact that one kind act could last - for a thousand miles.

So I'll write about nothing when it means something to me.  I even found happiness down at the DMV.  All I really care about is living a life that's true.  I'll tell you a story that brought me joy - it's the best that I can do.

See, I'm just a simple cowgirl who's living in the city.  I'm drinking lots of ponies on a barstool writing ditties.  The tunes, they might seem simple, and the subjects, they might seem bare.  It's the little things that matter to me and the rest, well, I just don't care.
