The World Tour project began in the Summer of 2011 as merely a way to get back into the car, get back behind a 35mm camera, drive, and shoot small southern towns with international names. Inspiration was a hope, mental clarity was another, and what happened was I got both of those things - and then some. Familiar photographic processes were re-discovered, songs were written, and even the ukulele was played! In other words, the state of my world was larger than I had ever thought. I've always been a fan of the Emersonian idea that to travel far - and light - you need not go any farther than your own backyard. With that thought in mind, I gave myself artistic boundary and limited the tour to my home state of Louisiana. In doing so, I opened new doors of perception and comtemplation for myself. Travelling through Louisiana's rich and abundant landscape, the tour became about realizing the world is only as large or as small as you want it to be; the possibilities of perception are endless.
To date, the World Tour has lead to a blog, a musical/photographic performance piece, as well as an exhibit of liquid emulsion prints. Stay tuned for more adventures..more blogs..more performances..and more exhibitions..
The majority of the World Tour images were shot on 35mm black & white film. It's my preferred method of shooting.
The World Tour journey has been chronicled on my blog. Check the archives for older posts. It began in July 2011.

This has been a stream of consciousness type of project. "Principle photography" will soon be completed and I will turn my efforts into creating a narrative to weave into a performance piece and book form. I will most likely continue to blog about my progress.
